Purbeck Flying – Member Liability and Safety Notice
 
Welcome to Purbeck Flying. We want all members, guests and visiting pilots to enjoy the airfield safely and responsibly.
By becoming a member of Purbeck Flying and using the airfield, facilities, aircraft parking areas, hangars, access routes or any associated club facilities, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Aviation and Airfield Risks
General aviation and airfield activities involve inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, aircraft movements, propellers, uneven ground, weather conditions, vehicles, fuel, tools, hangars, livestock or wildlife, and other hazards associated with operating from a grass airfield.
Members are responsible for their own safety and for the safety of any guests they bring onto the site.

2. Personal Responsibility
All members must act responsibly, follow airfield procedures, comply with lawful instructions from Purbeck Flying representatives, and take reasonable care at all times.
Members must not enter operational areas, hangars, aircraft parking areas or restricted parts of the airfield unless authorised to do so.
Children, guests and pets must be supervised at all times.

3. Flying Activities
Pilots remain solely responsible for the safe operation of their aircraft, including flight planning, aircraft airworthiness, insurance, pilot licensing, weather assessment, performance calculations, and compliance with all applicable aviation laws and regulations.
Permission to use the airfield does not imply that Purbeck Flying has assessed the suitability of any flight, pilot, aircraft or operating conditions.

4. Use of Facilities and Equipment
Any use of Purbeck Flying facilities, parking areas, ground equipment, vehicles, tools, tie-downs, hangars or other equipment is at the member’s own risk unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Members must not use equipment unless authorised and competent to do so.
Any damage, defect, hazard or unsafe condition must be reported promptly.

5. Property and Vehicles
Aircraft, vehicles, personal belongings and equipment are brought onto the site at the owner’s risk.
Purbeck Flying accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, damage or deterioration of property, except where caused by negligence or breach of duty by Purbeck Flying.

6. Insurance
Members are responsible for ensuring that they hold appropriate insurance for their aircraft, vehicles, equipment, guests and activities.
Aircraft owners and pilots must ensure that their insurance is valid for the intended operation and use of the airfield.

7. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, Purbeck Flying shall not be liable for loss, damage, injury, delay, costs or expenses arising from a member’s use of the airfield or facilities, except where caused by Purbeck Flying’s negligence or breach of legal duty.

8. Compliance
Failure to follow airfield rules, safety instructions or reasonable directions may result in suspension or withdrawal of membership or permission to use the airfield.
