Visiting Pilot Terms and Conditions
Eyres Field / Purbeck Flying
By requesting PPR, landing, departing, parking, or otherwise using Eyres Field / Purbeck Flying, the pilot in command agrees to the following terms.
1. Prior Permission Required — PPR — is mandatory for all visiting aircraft.
Permission may be refused, withdrawn or changed at any time. PPR does not confirm that the airfield is suitable for your aircraft or operation. Conditions may change without notice.
The pilot in command remains solely responsible for deciding whether it is safe and legal to land, depart, taxi or park.
2. Airfield Status
Eyres Field is an unlicensed grass airfield.
It may not have the facilities, markings, lighting, fire cover, rescue services or operational support found at a licensed aerodrome.
Use of the airfield is entirely at the pilot’s own risk.
3. Pilot Responsibilities
The pilot in command is responsible for:
-
Safe conduct of the flight.
-
Aircraft performance calculations, including grass, slope, surface condition, obstacles, wind, weight and weather.
-
Checking NOTAMs, weather, airspace and all relevant flight information.
-
Ensuring the aircraft is airworthy, insured and suitable for grass-strip operations.
-
Complying with all applicable aviation law and local procedures.
-
Supervising passengers and guests at all times.
4. Insurance
Visiting aircraft must carry valid insurance, including third-party liability insurance as required by law.
The pilot confirms that their insurance covers operation into and out of unlicensed grass airfields. Purbeck Flying may request evidence of insurance.
The pilot is responsible for any damage, loss, injury, claim or cost arising from their aircraft, passengers, guests, vehicles or actions.
5. Ground Conditions and Local Procedures
Eyres Field is a grass airfield and surface conditions may vary. The ground may be wet, soft, uneven, slippery, rutted, obstructed or otherwise unsuitable.
Pilots must visually assess the airfield before landing and must not land if there is any doubt about suitability.
All pilots must follow published or notified local procedures, including joining, circuit, noise abatement, taxiing, parking and operating instructions.
6. Fees, Parking and Conduct
Any landing, parking or other fee must be paid as requested.
Vehicles may only be parked in approved areas. Passengers, children, dogs and guests must remain under the pilot’s supervision.
No person may enter hangars, aircraft storage areas, workshops, private areas or operational areas without permission.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted near aircraft, fuel, hangars or operational areas.
7. International Flights
Eyres Field / Purbeck Flying is not currently approved for international arrivals or departures.
Visiting pilots must not use Eyres Field for international flights unless Purbeck Flying has given explicit written confirmation that the airfield is approved and that the specific flight is accepted.
Pilots remain responsible for all Border Force, customs, immigration, GAR, police and legal requirements.
8. Refusal or Withdrawal of Permission
Purbeck Flying may refuse or withdraw permission to use the airfield at any time, including where conditions are unsuitable, information is incomplete, procedures are not followed, insurance is unclear, or the operation is considered unsafe or inappropriate.
9. Liability
Use of Eyres Field is at the pilot’s own risk.
Purbeck Flying does not warrant that the airfield is suitable for any particular aircraft, pilot, operation or weather condition.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Purbeck Flying accepts no liability for loss, damage, injury, delay, diversion, cancellation or consequential loss arising from use of the airfield.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10. Privacy
Information provided for PPR, landing fees, safety, insurance, security or legal compliance may be retained by Purbeck Flying.
This may include pilot name, contact details, aircraft registration, aircraft type, flight details and visit history.
Information may be shared with authorities, insurers, emergency services, landowners or legal advisers where reasonably necessary.
